Principal's Message
I send my greetings to all the stakeholders of Prime Vocational Institute – PVI. At PVI,our focus is not just giving knowledge for future employment but to produce a holistically skilled person. We always want the best for our students, and we are proud to be working with you to ensure that our trainees acquire the right knowledge, attitude, and skills to face future challenges. At PVI we work as team and complement each other’s effort in order to achieve excellence.
The most valuable thing we have is time and attention. If time is the most valuable and precious thing we have, it’s also the most precious thing we can give. Every day as we engage our students, we always ask; Are we working harder? Are we getting better? Are we passionate of what we do?

About PVI
Prime Vocational Institute (PVI) is private training vocational Institute providing market-fit technical and vocational skills to young people to excel in the current dynamic economic environment. Since founding in 2011, we have skilled and graduated more than 2,000 young people.
We offer National Certificate and DIT (short) courses through an approach that creates and equips learners with practical and soft skills they need to achieve successful careers. Our learners graduate as technical and innovative professionals in workplaces and the entrepreneurship arena.
PVI is located in Bugabwe Trading Center, Nakigo Sub-county, Iganga district in the eastern- central region of Uganda. Our Institute has been licensed by Ministry of Education and Sports (Reg. No. MoE&S/BTVET/203).
Certificate Courses (DIT)
We offers short courses ranging from one month to one year. All DIT courses are examined by the Institute and Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT). Trainees admitted to this program are those who may have never been to school or dropped out of school before completing their ordinary education level (O’level/ S4). We provide curriculum training on marketable skills and competencies in the occupations of their choice. Trainees can further upgrade to purse National certificate courses.
National Certificate Courses (UBTEB)
Trainees that have completed their Ordinary level Education (Senior 4) or have attained a Uganda Junior Technical Certificate (UJTC) or Community Polytechnic Certificate or its equivalent are eligible to enroll for a 2 year National certificate course and upon completion, they eligible to formal/ professional employment and qualify to purse diploma level studies in any university of choice.
DIPLOMA COURSES
We offer two diploma study centres: Centenary Community College Kayunga (Agriculture) and Uganda Military College Lugazi (Engineering). Lectures are held in the evenings and on weekends for flexibility. Eligible candidates include Direct entry (S6 graduates) with at least 2 principal passes in relevant fields and National Certificate holders from recognized institutions. Prime Skills Foundation
Prime Skills Foundation (PSF) an affiliate not-for-profit and non-governmental organization to Prime Vocational Institute PVI focuses on supporting young people to transform livelihood through promoting self- employability skills and linkages to startup financing.
PSF headquarters in Iganga, Uganda, focuses on providing tuition subsidies for young people especially female students to acquire technical, vocational and business education for gainful employment and sustainable development and promote outreach to remote learners that are unable acquire formal education at the PVI campus.
